Dear colleagues
I am presently advertising three new funded PhD projects. These form part of a team of about 15 working on tracking and predicting the future of the East Antarctic Ice Sheet. The project is well supported with travel and professional development funds through a recent ARC Laureate Fellowship award.
Beyond GPS: Tracking Antarctica's changing shape using multiple Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) https://www.utas.edu.au/research/degrees/available-projects?id=12040
Resolving glacier and solid Earth interactions in the Antarctic Peninsula with machine learning and numerical modelling https://www.utas.edu.au/research/degrees/available-projects?id=12039 Data-Informed reconstructions of East Antarctic surface mass balance and firn densification https://www.utas.edu.au/research/degrees/available-projects?id=12041
Eligibility: these are all open to international and Australian domestic applicants, with relocation support Closing date: there is an initial closing date of December 1, 2025 but they will be reopened if the positions are not filled Commencement: during 2026 Application process: please send me your CV and academic transcripts and outline which of the projects you are interested in. Formal application details are on the above links.
I expect to advertise further PhD positions in 2026 for 2027 commencement. If you have a strong track record in quantitative Earth sciences (broadly) and wish to have a discussion please let me know.
Four new postdoctoral researchers are also being recruited, with all positions listed here: https://careers.utas.edu.au/en/listing/https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/GBYiCK1qMkfqKn3Yzc3i6C55qrf?domain=careers.utas.edu.au/
