Save the Date - PNT2026
Positioning, Navigation and Timing
4 - 6 February 2026
Royal Randwick, Sydney, Australia
PNT2026 is the premier Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) conference in the Asia-Pacific region, bringing together global experts from industry, government, defence and academia.
PNT2026 will showcase the latest advancements in GNSS and alternative PNT technologies, address key industry challenges, and explore applications across aerospace, defence, smart cities, autonomous systems, critical infrastructure, and many others.
2026 marks an exciting milestone—the first PNT symposium since the merger of the International GNSS Association (IGNSS) with the Australian Institute of Navigation (AIN). Now hosted under the AIN’s PNT Sub-Committee, the conference will provide a broader and more integrated approach to resilient and secure PNT solutions.
PNT2026 will build on the success of IGNSS2024, offering a dynamic platform for discussing key issues such as:
* Core GNSS & PNT Technologies – Satellite navigation, augmentation services, and sensor integration.
* Resilient Navigation & Security – Interference mitigation, cyber threats, and authentication.
* Emerging PNT Solutions – Alternative navigation, quantum-enabled positioning, and multi-sensor fusion.
* Industry & Policy Insights – Future trends, regulatory challenges, and national security applications.
PNT2026 will feature a cutting-edge PNT technology exhibition, technical presentations, keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, creating a platform for collaboration and innovation.
Join us in Sydney to exchange ideas, forge collaborations, and shape the future of PNT across industries.
Stay tuned for registration details and program updates.

Dear Australian geodesy colleagues
Just a brief note that nominations are still open (deadline extended) for AGU Geodesy Section and Union Fellowship nominations. It would be good to have more Australian nominations in these categories. In some cases, AGU membership is not required to nominate.
Deadlines: deadlines for nominations for Fellows (https://www.agu.org/honors/union-fellows) and Section Awards (https://www.agu.org/honors/section-awards-lectures) are now March 27, so 10 days from now. There is just enough time then for us to encourage some nominations.
Status: The number of nominations in the system as of last week was very low. No Fellow nominations and very few in the other categories.
